Your $45,000.00 is going where?

Where are $45,000.00 of your tax dollars going?

Gig Harbor City Council meeting

Monday, February 8, 5:30 pm.

Who is getting $45,000.00 of your property tax money and why?

The Olympic Property Group (OPG) is a development corporation that developed Gig Harbor North.  These developers brought you high density housing resulting in gridlock traffic and unsafe cross walks in roundabouts.
In addition a faulty buffer zone with clear cut trees resulted in a tree falling on an occupied car.

·         OPG Development Corp. does not have a business located in Gig Harbor.

·         OPG Development Corp. does not live in Gig Harbor.

·         Why does the OPG Development Corp. sit on the Board of Directors of the Downtown Waterfront Association?

Why is the city council going to give $45,000.00 of your taxes dollars to any group with a development corporation on the Board of Directors?

How about a better solution for your $45,000.00?

If your $45,000.00 was spent to pay the increase of your utility rates perhaps your tax dollars could benefit all of us who actually pay property taxes.
Do you have other ideas on how to spend your property tax dollars?

The Mayor and City Council positioned this contract vote on the agenda to insure taxpayers have no opportunity to question or comment until after your $45,000.00 is spent.

Does this sound right to you?

Comments need to happen before the vote so the city council and mayor can study your input.

The Mayor and City Council are waiting for your email to hear what you would like done with your $45,000.00

PS. Our citizens group is a member of the Downtown Waterfront Alliance, we donated a hanging flower basket in 2015. We suggested the Alliance consider bringing in some residents who live downtown 24 hours a day and work together to understand everyone's needs. Folks are either part of the problem or part of the solution. Working together builds a better solution.

Always investigate for yourself!

  1. I'm surprised you are against our waterfront retailers and community businesses. It's unfortunate you don't understand or appreciate the positive work this group has done for the downtown core and our City. Our portion of $45,000 is money well spent. You ask us to do our research so I'd appreciate you doing your own.

  3. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK JENI! I love how you expose these "Public Servants" for who and what they are! They have demonstrated time and time again they do not care about the citizens or preserving our beautiful community. They need to go.
